hey, translate our flash

As I hope you know, Creative Commons launched the iCommons project to internationalize our licenses. Japan was the first to launch. There will be many more launching through the year.

As part of the process, we've opened up our Flash for others to make derivative works. We're very eager to find people to port the Flash elsewhere. Check it out here.

I wanted to send you this story on a flap in the blogosphere, which I wrote partially inspired by Free Culture.

The short story is that because political kibbitzing that wasn't online is now moving online, it creates the opportunity for reactionary media structures to strike at and informally regulate mainstream political speech. Here is one such case, and surely not the last.

Excellent! I hope someone translates this into an open format like SMIL.

Es una fabulosa forma de escuchar el libro entero. La iniciativa es genial. Felicitaciones.

I applaud these excellent principles. Free Culture should remain that and not be subsumed into agencies, authorities or anyone else. See Cyberlaw for more ethics discussion

The inapplicability is not limited to telling people "their speech is wrong, or harmful, or both," one could also tell them to shut up! (they may not listen, of course) By slightly different reasoning: LL could delete this comment, ban me from this site and so on and there would still be still no First Amendment issue. Lawrence Lessig is not the government, and the First Amendment is not there to make him nice, patient or tolerant towards speech he dislikes.

Es una fabulosa forma de escuchar el libro entero. La iniciativa es genial. Felicitaciones.
