Well, he's part of the Liberal Media! :-)
[Disclaimer - this is a joke! It's a joke, I tell you!]
When did "we" NOT make Doonesbury?
Where is the "Bush Lied" media now that Joe Wilson has proven to be an utter liar by the 9/11 Commission?
Have you seen the CNN newsflashes and the NYT front page headlines?
No? Hmmm.
I read the Safire column in the Times today, and found it to be his usual "if the Right does wrong, it's time to distract the audience over here; if the Left does wrong, it's time to trumpet it to the heavens" hypocrisy. If the worst they can say about Wilson is that he lied about whether his wife recommended him for a job, well, where's the outrage over Bush's lies?
Yes, lies. The constant rewriting of history does not erase my memory, and I remember well how that State of the Union statement was already discredited by the time it made it into the speech. The fact that the whitewashing of history has begun ("it's all the fault of the CIA, I tells ya") does not change the facts. If Wilson also lied, it does not take away from Bush's lie.
Did some research on the "Wilson lies" issue, and found this:

No wonder the Times and CNN aren't trumpeting the news. "Utter liar"? Not even close. More Right Wing bluster and innuendo. It's become their M.O. How sad to see this descent.
It's sad to see both parties' descent. Take the Congressional Black Causcus' treatment of Nader recently (you would think these members would be all the more sensitive to using racial epithets). American politics has hit an all-time low.
