blogger pride
So there are very few things in my life that I am really proud of. Here's one. As some of you know, I've launched a campaign to recruit people to the blogging world. My nephew was a big victory. A talented writer-in-the-making I knew in high school was a second. And now, I am extremely pleased to report that Judge Richard Posner and Professor Gary Becker have decided to take a spin. Tomorrow is the launch of the Becker-Posner-Blog. Judge Posner was a guest blogger on my blog. (You can see the collection of his posts here.) In this way we, if not Congress, help promote the progress of science.

You've campaign is a good thing only to the extent that you know and can recruit people who are somebody. Blogs are currently dominated by nobodies. (Like me, if I were to start one.)
Blogging is legitimized by people in the mainstream having blogs. Lessig, Posner. and by mainstream journalists Joshua Micah Marshall, etc.

If blogging NEEDS to be legitimized, then how is getting people to blog different that getting people to do xyz in order to join the run-of-the-mill cult.
Btw, what's the difference between a blog and a website devoted to oneself?

So, inform me of the wisdom of Yet Another Movement Started (which was started some time ago, btw)...? Btw, I've posted my blog URL previously, but it was short-lived. The value of bloggers' contributions to society was somewhat longer lived, but met the same fate.
Iow, I'll be glad to debate any of you on the merits of blogging, but first you'd hafta come up with some semblance of a definition, and since I've studied the genre you ain't gonna be able to snow me on your addiction like you can others.
