Freedoms License Generator (v2)
Version 2 of the "freedoms license generator" is now up. Play, and let us know what you think. The aim of the tool is to help develop an intuitive sense of the relationship between the freedoms/constraints of the Creative Commons licenses. It's got a fancy new interface, and is now really fast.

Why not call it a copyright violations moderator? It'd be a little more intuitively understood that way.
CC let's the inherently unethical copyright holder permit members of their audience a little more leeway before they prosecute.
At least, a little more leeway than the RIAA...
To call it a freedoms license generator... ??!!
That's like calling a handgun a 'peace maker'.
This is a great tool! It helps to understand the different aspects of the license by using visual representation. The code generator is icing on the cake. Kudos!

This is a great tool, Mr. Lessig. As someone already said above, it helps understanding the different aspects of each license in a simple, graphical way. Is it available in other languages as well?
Putting share in green and also sharealike in red seems unhelpful. If both are selected, better share in orange so that people who are looking for or to create freely shareable works without sharealike restriction can find them with a single field scan. That is: green when that specific freedom is constrained isn't good and conceals the interaction of freedoms and limittions on them.
Make 'em all green:
Share -> Please Promote This - thanks
Remix -> Please Build On This - love to see it
Non-NC -> Please Make Money - you deserve it
SA -> Please Share Alike - spread the love
When they're red, they can mean the following:
Don't copy! (you pirate)
Don't touch! (you vandal)
Get your hands off my money! (you thief)
I'll see you in court! (you outlaw)
Copyright is a lethal weapon kids. It's better to hang up your gun entirely, than to take advise from the pro-gun lobby who might only moderate your enthusiasm by suggesting that you 'ask questions first' or 'shoot to stop, not to kill'. What they don't tell you is that you need about $100,000 before you can afford the ammunition - unless you borrow some from your neighbourhood gangster boss...
Seems to be broken. I can't do no share, yes remix, yes non-commercial (limited to non-commercial remixing), and yes share-alike. This is, of course, what I would want if I had a work and I didn't want to face competition for identical copies of the work, or commercial competition for derivative works, but did want to allow for non-commercial share-alike derivatives of the work.
Of course, I'm not entirely surprised. While I suppose it's better than nothing, I've never been enthralled by CC. Fixing copyright to provide a better default state for works seems better to me than adding licensing terms to the mix. And while I might be able to stomach nice licenses like the GPL or CC, I am against adhesive licenses for copyrights generally, and if I had to pick one, I'd rather have a ban on adhesive licenses even if it happened to take out the GPL and CC, rather than have to suffer adhesive licenses even if sometimes they were not so bad.
