Couple of suggestions about the widget and accepting donations--

1. Donors deserve credit. You should have a page which lists your donors. You should also give them an opportunity to express why they felt to give. Advanced Hominids are really into status and they crave recognition for everything they do. If there is one simple thing you can do to increase funding goals it would probably be this.

2. Explain why you need the money and what you intend to do with get it. Maybe put up a link to this information rigtht next to the widget.

3. Also include a link to your financials from the previous year right next to the widget.
