build and free flags
So GNOME Desktop News has a great story about a project to build a comprehensive package of world flags in SVG format. The flags are then donated under a Creative Commons Public Domain license. The call for these flags went up Saturday. So far, there are 130 flags contributed. To see the flags so far, look here. Very cool.

Ummm.....Am I just dense or something?
Are there any countries out there that copyright flags?
I understand some of the issues with things like Kanji characters, but I don't get this one.
Don't think any country copyrights them. Altough many countries have restrictions on in which circumstances you can use flags. As for this project, altough the flag design in itself might not copyrighted so would I think a specific flag 'implementation' can be.
Sean--
I wouldn't sweat it. Unless Atrios himself libeled Luskin, he ought to be well protected by the remaining nubbin of the CDA, 47 USC 230 which IIRC basically destroys liability for libel on the part of people who provide a forum for others.
At any rate, let's please get back to the flags. That's a pretty impressive collection, though I was extremely curious as to why there is a Nazi swastika flag in there, when there's comparatively few historical flags present. I mean we could at least get some pirate flags in there if anything goes.
Apparently, Atrios already has offers of help flooding in.
It's like Josh Marshall of Talking points asking for some pin money so he could blog in New Hampshire for the primary.
He got it in under 24 hours.
Apparently, Luskin is upset because Atrios referred to him "Stalking" Krugman.
The kicker is that Atrios was quoting Glenn Reynolds.
