the time to remember

Phil Goldman has died. The not-yet-40 former Apple software engineer, co-founder of WebTV, and CEO of Mailblocks, died unexpectedly the day after Christmas. I had only met Goldman by email. After a critical comment about Mailblocks on this blog, he wrote and we began a conversation, now cut short. When I told a friend about Goldman's direct and honest responses to my criticism of his company, the friend said, "That's Phil." Or so it was, and so should we all be.

Goldman served on the board of Brave Kids, and his family has asked that contributions be made to it.

"remember that thou art mortal." :-(

That sucks dude.

My deepest condolence to his family & friends, from what I read he was a lovely man, why have people to die that young... God bless you all, Dave from Germany.

sorry about that.

I just found out about Phil's passing two days ago and have spent time catching up on his life since I last saw him in high school. He was a year younger but was in a couple of my classes, and befriended me quickly. My younger sister was a classmate of his yonger sister in high school who sadly past away at a young age as well. My condolence to the Goldman family. Phil always had a smile on his face whenever I saw him. He was well known in school as someone with tremendous intelligence and potential. Doesn't surprise me to read of all his achievements. It saddens me to learn that he has been gone for this many years, and to learn of his family's loss namely his wife and two children. I'm certain of the joy and pride they must have hold and the memory of Phil's spectacular though all too short time in this world. His passing is a loss for all of us who had the chance to know him in life. RIP buddie!
