While the political reform community continues to push for greater government transparency and stronger campaign finance disclosure laws, some say these reforms would go too far. The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) views donor privacy as critical to free speech, and the Congressional Research Institute sees pitfalls in the rise of legislative transparency.
